About Us/The Trip
This is the first official post of Lindsey and my blog! So we have been planning this trip for almost 5 months now, and the day of departure is right around the corner. I graduated college in May of 2008, and I have had no other plan or intention beyond work, work, work. Lindsey on the other hand, has had a life long dream of travelling the world when she graduated college. To make a long story short, I was considering a new career path around the same time Lindsey was graduating this past May. I was fortunate to receive a great job opportunity with a start date of January 1st, 2011. That left us with a 3 and a half (100 days to be exact) window to do something we may not have a chance to do again for a long time!
On September 5th (exactly 2 days after my sister Alexis' wedding) we will be departing on this adventure. It took us a solid 2 months to finalize our destinations. To the delight of Lindsey, we will be following the warm weather. Our trip consists of a combination of trains, planes, and automobiles to get us from point A to point B. Below is our brief itinerary: (the details of each stop will be provided throughout the trip)
September 5th: Boston to Amsterdam (leaving us 1 month to explore Europe before our next departure from Istanbul)
October 5th: Istanbul to Amman
October 12th: Amman to Bangkok (leaving us 3 weeks to explore Southeast Asia before our next departure from Singapore)
November 3rd: Singapore to Bali
November 8th: Bali to Cairns (leaving us 2 weeks to explore Australia before our next departure from Sydney)
November 23rd: Sydney to Christchurch (leaving us 1 week in the Southern Island of New Zealand and 1 week in the Northern Island)
December 7th: Auckland to Tahiti
December 13th: Tahiti to Los Angeles
That's all for now. Lots to do to get everything ready for our departure...and prepare for Alexis and Adam's wedding!! We will post again from Logan International Sunday night
Stay thirsty my friends,
Matt and Lindsey
